LIFE AND DEATH: UNPROCESSED TRAUMATIC DEATHS AND PRESENT-DAY ILLNESSES

Traumatic death refers to a death that occurs suddenly, unexpectedly, or violently, often resulting from accidents, homicides, suicides, natural disasters, or other catastrophic events. Unlike deaths from natural causes or terminal illnesses, traumatic deaths typically involve an element of shock, horror, or distress for those who are affected by them or those who witness them. Consequences of traumatic death can be profound and far-reaching, affecting the individual, families, and communities in various ways.

A traumatic death has effects on the person and on the people connected to that person (Intergenerational Trauma). What effects? There are Psychological, Physical and Spiritual effects on all levels. And there are Interpersonal, Social, Intergenerational and Community effects. How is the grief process affected and why is it important? What happens when the experience is not integrated? How can the experience be integrated? Integrating the experience is essential for the healing of the mind and body.
